Position Information
Francis Greenway High School is an inclusive comprehensive secondary school with a Support Unit. The student population continues to grow with a current enrolment of 750 students. 7% of students have a background where English is an additional language or dialect (EAL/D) and 20% identify as having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. The school forms part of the Gateway Learning Community of schools who, as a group, provide a continuous path of learning for all students.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience and willingness to teach students with Autism, Behaviour Difficulties, Mild Intellectual Disability and Emotion Disturbance.
Demonstrated ability to develop , implement and evaluate quality individual personalised learning support and behaviour plans to facilitate improved student learning outcomes.
Evidence of successful classroom management with a proven ability to develop a positive learning environment that promotes success of students from diverse backgrounds.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated capacity to build positive partnerships with families, support staff, interagency personnel, and colleagues
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
