Position Information

The Enfield Public School community including students, dedicated staff and parents/carers take pride in their open, warm and welcoming approach that creates a strong sense of belonging and positive school culture.

The student population of approximately 200 students is diverse with approximately 65% for whom English is an additional language or dialect.

In 2026, Enfield Public School will introduce three inclusive classes for students with Autism (AU) and Intellectual Disability (IO/AU).

Enfield Public School is strongly supported by an active and engaged community and Parents and Citizen Association.

The School is organised into stage-based learning teams led by three executive staff members.

There is a strong focus on innovative approaches to learning and teaching.

The staff and students are offered quality, balanced learning programs that include academic, social, sporting, artistic and recreational experiences.

The staff aim to ensure students become independent and caring citizens with strong academic foundations who are committed to lifelong learning.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with additional learning needs, including Autism and intellectual disabilities, while effectively supporting complex needs such as communication, sensory needs, wellbeing and challenging behaviour.

Demonstrated ability to deliver differentiated and personalised learning that maximises student growth, alongside outstanding and flexible classroom management skills that foster high expectations, positive engagement and inclusive practices.

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that build a culture of inclusion, with the ability to proactively engage with students, colleagues, parents and carers, SLSOs, external agencies and the wider school community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
