Position Information

Crawford Public School is located in Doonside. The school currently has 380 students enrolled with 25% Aboriginal population (90 students) and approximately 53% of students from Non-English Speaking Backgrounds. The school has a positive partnership with the P and C and the Nurringingy Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Crawford Public School focuses on every child as an individual and caters for all learners based on their needs. The support unit is made up of 3 MC classes. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with mild to moderate intellectual disability, behaviour difficulties, emotional disturbances and/or autism.
  • Demonstrated well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to build effective partnerships with students, parents, staff, external agencies, and the school community.
  • Demonstrated classroom management skills that support the needs of a diverse range of students, including students with challenging behaviours.
  • Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum through the development and implementation of personalised support plans that caters for diverse learning needs, maximises student growth and fosters high expectations
     
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
