Position Information
Condobolin High School is an inclusive, comprehensive secondary school on the lands of the Wiradjuri people. The school currently has an enrolment of 229 students, with 53% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Strategically, and aligned with an equity agenda, the school has a clear and sustained focus on explicit teaching, refined assessment and high expectations.
Students in Stage 6 engage in the Lachlan Access Program, where teachers work collaboratively across schools to deliver curriculum using a blended learning approach that integrates online and face-to-face instruction.
Condobolin High School offers a broad range of extracurricular activities designed to foster student engagement, community involvement, and personal development. The school has strong partnerships, particularly with local businesses and cultural organisations, which provide students with valuable work experience and pathways beyond school.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Special Education and/or demonstrated experience teaching students with autism, mild intellectual disability, challenging behaviours and mental health challenges.
High expectations, with a commitment to wellbeing and learning, with the ability to plan and effectively implement differentiated, engaging learning programs in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and engage with all stakeholders, including students, parents/carers, external agencies and the wider community, to build and enhance a culture of inclusivity.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
