Position Information

Chifley College is a multi-campus college established in 2000 to enhance the educational opportunities for students in the Mount Druitt area. Mount Druitt Campus has an enrolment of 630 students, including 24% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students as well as 51% Pacific Islander students. The campus is committed to the NSW Public Education plan to lift Education Standards through literacy, numeracy, differentiation and explicit teaching. Our Inclusion Faculty has seven classes - an IM, IO and five multicategory classes.

 

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach, knoweldege and understanding of, or experience in teaching special education settings, working with students who have mild and moderate intellectual disabilities, aautism, behaviour difficulties, physical disabilities or complex health care needs.

  2. Demonstrated ability to design and teach quality, differentiated educational programs, and develop personalised learning and support plans and behaviour plans for students with a wide range of individual learning needs while providing a culture of high expectations for all students in a multistage settring.
  3. Demonstrate highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents and carers, SLSO, support agencies and the wider community.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

Chifley College Mount Druitt Campus is a 4 transfer point (TP) school. More information on transfer points is available on the Transfer system webpage. The successful applicant will be appointed to Chifley College and initially based at the Mount Druitt Campus.
