Position Information
Cartwright Public School is located in Sydney Southwest in the Liverpool region. The school consists of 243 students of which 74% are from a language background other than English. 7% of students are Aboriginal. Our students come from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, supported by Equity funding which is utilised to establish extra support and educational programs across the school to improve students' learning outcomes. Cartwright Public School currently consists of 9 mainstream and 6 support unit classes with an additional support unit class starting next year.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, behaviour difficulties and mild/moderate intellect disabilities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and work as part of a support unit team
Ability to use student data to inform differentiated learning programs for students with special needs
Effective communication with parent and carers, as well as outside agencies to assist students and their families
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
