Position Information
Camden High School is a fully comprehensive coeducational high school that caters to approximately 950 students, including 84 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students as well as 7 special education classes for students with identified learning needs. Our school has strong ties to the local community and is highly regarded for the broad range of opportunities and social experiences offered to the students.
We pride ourself on our abiliy to support students in their transition into post school pathways through traineeships, employment and tertiary options and offer extensive opportunities for students to pursue vocational educational pathways through the Macarthur Trade Training Centre arrangement. In Years 7 and 8, we offer academically selective classes as well as a fully comprehensive HSC Hub to support senior students striving for academic excellence in their High School Certificate exams.
Camden High School has a strong sporting culture, especially through the sporting exchange program with Cowra High School which has been running since 1971. We also encourage students to pursue agricultural, technological, creative and performing arts experiences at school, as well as engagement and future focused learning.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Special Education and/ or experience in teaching students with Autism (Secondary) and Mild Intellectual disabilities (Secondary).
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty members to develop, implement and evaluate differentiated educational programs that support student growth.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively, proactively and professionally with colleagues, parents, carers, SLSO staff, support agencies and the wider community. Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing with the ability to demonstrate positive relationships and work effectively to create safe and engaging learning environments.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
