Position Information
Enrolment is currently 236 students inclusive of 21 students across 3 support unit classes (IO/AU, AU, AU). The school consists of 70% language background other than English and 17% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Staff are committed to creating engaging, purposeful and challenging programs and environments developing skills required for students to become independent, life-long learners. We take pride in offering a safe and supportive environment where teachers and parents work together in partnership to help children learn successfully and overcome challenging experiences.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with complex needs, including Autism, mild/moderate intellectual disabilities, social/emotional needs expressed through behaviour, trauma and mental health in a multi-age setting.
Demonstrated exceptional behaviour management skills aligned with evidence based strategies which enhance student engagement, wellbeing and maximise learning opportunities.
Highly developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a dynamic member of an experienced Team engaging with school learning support officers, parents, carers, teachers and the wider community inclusive of all cultural backgrounds.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
