Position Information
Glenwood Public School is a small, culturally diverse school located in South Western Sydney, serving approximately 219 students. The student body reflects more than 20 nationalities, with 7.7% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 61% coming from households where a language other than English is spoken.
The school currently offers nine mainstream classes, supported by a dedicated team of both early and experienced teachers. Staff are committed to employing student-centred, evidence-based teaching approaches that promote academic growth and improve learning outcomes. In 2026, Glenwood Public School will introduce three special education Autism support classes, broadening the capacity to support the diverse learning needs of students.
The school's leadership team comprises of a Principal, an above-establishment Deputy Principal, an Assistant Principal specialising in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Assistant Principal.

Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching students with Autism and Behavioural difficulties and other complex support and learning needs.
2. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as a member of the support unit team, engaging with school learning support officers, parents, carers, teachers, external agencies, and the wider community.
3. Evidence of outstanding flexible classroom behaviour management and adaptive strategies which enhance student engagement and the development of social skills, including the use of early intervention techniques.
4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work as part of a variety of teams across the school to improve student outcomes.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
