Position Information

Campbell House School is a School for Specific Purposes that provides an alternative educational program for sixty-three students from Years 7-12. The school adopts trauma informed practices and positive education to support student wellbeing while implementing restorative practices to engage social learning and conflict management. Campbell House School offers an opportunity for students to improve literacy and numeracy skills, make links to vocational pathways, build positive relationships through strengths-based curriculum, develop social skills, and provide innovative, engaging learning experiences. Programs focus on teaching and learning of differentiated mainstream curriculum that supports academic, social, and behavioural outcomes through a wellbeing lens.

 

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with complex mental health, behavioural difficulties, and emotional disturbances.

  2. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, and differentiate quality teaching and learning programs, monitor and evaluate student progress to improve learning outcomes.

  3. Demonstrated ability in interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and inclusively to build positive relationships with students, staff, parent/carers, and external agencies.

  4. Commitment to whole-school wellbeing programs, with a strong emphasis on trauma informed practices, effective classroom practices, and behaviour management strategies.

  5. Demonstrated involvement in proactive whole school programs to enhance the wellbeing, engagement, and attainment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
