Position Information
Narromine High School is proud of its reputation for providing students with a rigorous and challenging curriculum.
The school has served the Narromine community for over one hundred years. The school acknowledges the Wiradjuri
people, the traditional custodians of the land our school is situated upon. The student population is 240, of whom approximately 70% are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Narromine High School has a strong tradition of academic, cultural and sporting success. Students consistently achieve their desired post school options, including university placement, apprenticeships and traineeships. Known for our strong academic focus, vocational education is another strength of the school. Students are annually accepted into universities, traineeships and apprenticeships of their choice. Our Higher School Certificate results show significant improvement in student learning outcomes.
A highly qualified and dedicated staff ensures student learning is tailored to suit individual needs. The school has a strong platform for supporting all students to grow in the key capabilities of literacy and numeracy. Our external test results reflect strong student growth in literacy, numeracy and science.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Science (7-12)
The capacity to design and deliver innovative, differentiated, and inclusive programs for a diverse range of student learning needs in a science classroom.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
Understanding and commitment to the NSW Department of Education’s Aboriginal Education Policy.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
