Position Information
Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Wade, is a secondary school situated in Griffith with an enrolment of 460 students including 100 students with an Aboriginal Heritage and 103 students with a non-English speaking background. In 2026 the school will be renamed back to its former name, Wade High School. The school continues to share linkages with Murrumbidgee High School – Griffith for the senior curriculum. As part of this restructure, the school has developed school procedures to support student learning including role statements and wellbeing systems to support the aspirations of the new learning environments. Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Wade includes an Aboriginal Learning Engagement Centre, support unit with 5 classes supported by a deputy principal instructional leader and a Clontarf Academy to support the educational provision of Aboriginal boys. The school seeks to achieve future high academic performance, supported through strong curriculum and vocational pathways. Positioned at the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, Griffith stands as a sizable regional city. This location ensures residents access to a diverse array of industries, cultural establishments and local sports teams that are deeply integrated into the community fabric. The city's assets include its own airport, hospital, specialised facilities, a wide spectrum of retail establishments and some of Australia's foremost wineries.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Science, Biology and Chemistry.
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents to improve student learning outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons that support the learning of a broad range of abilities, to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
