Position Information
Merrylands High School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school (enrollment 850 students, including 82% students from a non-English speaking background). The school’s strategic directions are, Student Growth and Attainment, Collaborative Practices in Numeracy and Improved Attendance. There is a strong focus on academic achievement, student engagement, Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL), innovative technology, meaningful community participation and whole school professional learning aligned to the school’s strategic directions.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval and or willing to teach Chemistry and Physics
2. Demonstrated capacity to contribute to whole school programs
3. Highly developed interpersonal skills
4. Expertise in teaching students from a low SES background with language background other than English
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
