Position Information

Gulgong High School is a comprehensive co-educational secondary school providing education to a rural community in the Central West of NSW. The school draws students from Gulgong and surrounding localities. The student population currently stands at 237 students, including 59 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Students with special needs are supported both in mainstream classes, as well as in two multi-categorical classes.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Year 7 to 10 Science and one of the following: Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Earth and Environmental Science.
  2. Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with the capacity to work as a collaborative member of the Science faculty and broader school community.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to provide engaging lessons and programs to cater for all students, including those with additional or diverse learning needs.
  4. Demonstrated commitment to the cultural and educational needs of Aboriginal students.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
