Position Information
Chester Hill High School (CHHS) is a comprehensive, co–educational secondary school situated in south western Sydney and is part of the Auburn Schools Educational Network. The school encompasses an Intensive English Centre and one Inclusive Support Class. Chester Hill High School has a current student enrolment of 1046 (872 mainstream, 174 IEC). The school is culturally diverse with 93% of students possessing a language background other than English. Chester Hill High School has 117 refugee or refugee–like students and a growing number of students with an Aboriginal background. The FOEI of the school is 158. All students are encouraged to achieve in an environment that provides academic challenge and artistic, cultural and sporting opportunities. Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Physics and 7-10 Science
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with students, staff and parents to improve student learning outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons that support the learning of a broad range of abilities, to maximise student growth and promote high expectations for all students.
Capacity to implement effective classroom management strategies and contribute to differentiated teaching and learning programs that support and maximise student learning and promote high expectations for all students.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
