Position Information
Blakehurst High School is a highly successful co-educational comprehensive school situated in Blakehurst, Sydney. The current student enrolment is approximately 1021, 84% of whom come from a non-English speaking background. The school has 890 students who have English as an additional language or dialect (EAL/D), 19 Aboriginal Students and 30 International students. Blakehurst High School is a dynamic school that delivers outstanding future focused and contemporary teaching and learning programs. Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Chemistry and Physics.
2. Demonstrated ability to use explicit teaching and effective feedback strategies.
3. Evidence of working collaboratively in school teams to develop high-quality teaching and learning resources.
4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider school community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
