Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Biology and Earth and Environmental Science, with a willingness to teach Investigating Science.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Junior Science, Biology, and Earth and Environmental Science syllabuses, with the ability to design effective, differentiated learning experiences that incorporate explicit teaching practices, including strategies to support the learning needs of high potential and gifted students.
- Demonstrated ability to foster strong student engagement in science by creating a positive, inclusive learning environment that incorporates effective hands-on experiments, connects scientific concepts to real-world applications, and integrates high-quality assessment tasks using appropriate technologies to enhance learning and accurately assess student achievement.
- Demonstrated capacity to foster student wellbeing through positive relationships with students, parents, and staff, supported by high-level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively as part of a team to achieve faculty and whole-school goals, while building strong partnerships with students, colleagues, parents, and the broader school community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
This is a permanent part-time position of 4 days per week, 0.8FTE (full time equivalent)
