Position Information

Brewongle Environmental Education Centre is one of 24 Environmental Education and Zoo Education Centres supported by the NSW Department of Education. The vision of Brewongle is to connect every learner to the natural world and inspire change for a sustainable future. Our school has no student enrolment and hosts about 10,000 students annually from other schools K-12 on day and camp programs. We are located on Dharug Country in the forest above Dyarubbin - the majestic Hawkesbury River at Sackville North, NSW. Brewongle EEC supports schools with curriculum, leadership and wellbeing implementation across a range of subjects with an emphasis on sustainability and environmental values. The successful applicant will receive full training in all our specialist programs and aspects of Brewongle operations. Applicants from primary and secondary school backgrounds are encouraged and will need a willingness to teach students K-12.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach infants and/or primary and/or Science and/or Geography and/or History.
  • Demonstrated exemplary teaching practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging and innovative quality education programs preferably with an emphasis on environmental and sustainability themes.
  • A demonstrated ability to integrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into teaching and learning.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

It is anticipated this position will commence term four 2024. Successful applicants will need a willingness to teach K-12 in an outdoor setting that includes bushwalking and kayaking.
