Position Information

Prairiewood High School is a co-educational, partially selective, comprehensive secondary school located in Wetherill Park in Sydney's South West on Dharug land. The school has a stable enrolment of approximately 1280 students. This includes 60 students in each year in the selective stream and four Support Unit (Autism and IO) classes across Years 7 to 12. 87% of students have a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE) and students represent 30 countries of origin. Approximately 50% of the students population requires English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EAL/D) support which has been steadily increasing. Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach

1) Personal Development Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), Sport, Lifestyle & Recreation, Community and Family Studies, and Exploring Early Childhood. 

2) Demonstrate the ability to effectively implement teaching programs that integrate literacy, numeracy and differentiated practice.

3) Collaborate effectively in a dynamic school by utilising highly developed interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff and the community.

4) Commitment to actively participate and contribute to faculty and school-wide initiatives and programs.

 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
