Position Information
Parramatta High School, established in 1913, is a co-educational, partially selective secondary school located in the city of Parramatta. The school has an enrolment of 1055 students. The community is multicultural with an ethnic composition of 96% LBOTE and three Aboriginal students. The school has approximately 74 teaching staff and 14 support staff. The school receives funding for EAL/D, Integration Funding and Refugee Student Support. Parramatta High School has a culture of high expectations and a vision to ensure that all students successfully transition through each stage of their learning. Explicit and differentiated teaching programs support all students including High Potential and Gifted learners as well as those with additional learning needs. Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) and willingness to teach Health and Movement Science (HMS)
2. Strong interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member and contribute to faculty and whole school programs and initiatives including High Potential and Gifted Learners.
3. Ability to use effective classroom management strategies to create a classroom environment that is engaging, motivating, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
