Position Information

Moree Secondary College is situated on Gamilaroi country and is part of the Connected Communities Strategy. It services the students from the agricultural region surrounding and within the township of Moree (town population 7,000). Our college services approximately 390 college students, of which, 67% identify as ATSI (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander). 

The college is committed to creating connected classrooms with staff who have completed targeted professional learning to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of assessment capable visible learners. We continue to create strong connections with the school community to improve attendance and engagement inclusive of Moree community groups, Moree Local AECG, and external agencies. 

 Our college is located in the centre of Moree which also hosts outstanding recreation, sporting, banking, performing arts, and shopping facilities. You can travel daily by air and train to Newcastle, the Hunter Valley, and Sydney, and by bus to Brisbane.

This position also attracts additional incentives and teaching housing under the Rural Teacher Incentives program.

Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach Personal Development, Health & Physical Education 7 - 12.
  • Proven capacity to use effective classroom management skills and well-being practices to create PDHPE classrooms and outdoor environments that are dynamic, engaging, inclusive, and foster a culture of high expectations.
  • Developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and collaborate with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

Successful applicants may be entitled to a relocation support payment of $5,000 to $8,000 for eligible applicants.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
