Position Information
Melonba High School is a new site located in the suburb of Melonba near Marsden Park. It opened to Year 7 and 8 in 2024 and will grow to include Year 7, 8 and 9 cohorts in 2025 with an anticipated enrolment of 650 students. It is expected to experience rapid growth enrolment in the first 5 years of operation. When completed, the school will have capacity for 2000 students. The school will incorporate an innovative and future focused educational model, reflective of agile teaching and learning areas while also supporting the welfare needs of students. Explicit Teaching at Melonba High School is underpinned by a concerted focus on Learning Intentions/Success Criteria, Formative Assessment and Differentiated learning. The position of PDHPE teacher will sit within a dynamic and growing PDHPE faculty.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach PDHPE 7-12 and Community and Family Studies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively within a faculty and whole-school environment.
Capacity to create and deliver learning experiences to students with a diverse range physical and academic learning abilities and cultural backgrounds.
Capacity to develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs and innovative assessment strategies that contribute to student growth.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
