Position Information
Wellington High School services a rural community in Central New South Wales and provides a comprehensive curriculum for Years 7 to 12 in a caring and supporting environment, providing programs which cater for students of all abilities. It is the sole provider for Years 11 and 12 in the Wellington area. The school has 308 students, 66% of whom are Aboriginal and 3% LBoTE. Wellington High School is a Restorative Practice school and ‘Achievement for All Students’ is a focus of all school programs.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach PD/Health/PE (PHP) and Willingness to teach Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation/Physical Activity and Sports Studies (SLR).
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing engaging and effective teaching and learning opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member and contribute to faculty and whole school programs and initiatives.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
