Position Information
Condobolin High School is an inclusive, comprehensive secondary school on the lands of the Wiradjuri people. The school currently has an enrolment of 229 students, with 53% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Strategically, and aligned with an equity agenda, the school has a clear and sustained focus on explicit teaching, refined assessment and high expectations.
Students in Stage 6 engage in the Lachlan Access Program, where teachers work collaboratively across schools to deliver curriculum using a blended learning approach that integrates online and face-to-face instruction.
Condobolin High School offers a broad range of extracurricular activities designed to foster student engagement, community involvement, and personal development. The school has strong partnerships, particularly with local businesses and cultural organisations, which provide students with valuable work experience and pathways beyond school.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach PD/Health/PE, with the ability or demonstrated capacity to teach senior PD/Health/PE and/or Community & Family Studies and/or Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation/Physical Activity and Sports Studies and/or Exploring Early Childhood/Child Studies.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning, whole school programs, and develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
- Demonstrated understanding of and sensitivity to the cultural, wellbeing and learning needs of students from low socio-economic backgrounds, students from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and/or an EALD background
- Ability to implement engaging and effective teaching strategies which cater for the individual needs of students with a diverse range of abilities, fostering a high expectations culture and student growth.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
