Position Information
Coolamon Central School is located approximately 40km North West of Wagga Wagga in the Riverina on Wiradjuri land. It is a comprehensive K-12 school with an enrolment of 395 students, including 12% Aboriginal students. Primary has eight staged classes, whilst Secondary are in staged cohorts in Years 7 to 10 and Years 11 and 12 are provided a broad curriculum driven by student needs. Our students come from diverse backgrounds, reflecting our large and varied catchment area.
The school strives to foster a proactive partnership with parents and the community in a rural environment and collaborates with its partner primary schools. The wellbeing of all students and staff is a key focus. Coolamon Central School has a highly professional and enthusiastic staff. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Mathematics (7-10), Mathematics (11-12) and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE).
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to contribute to faculty planning and develop positive relationships with students, staff and the wider community.
- Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
