Position Information
Vincentia High School is a vibrant co-educational, comprehensive; community school located in Jervis Bay on the South Coast of New South Wales. Proudly situated on the lands of the Wadi Wadi and Wandean people, we walk together with our local Bay and Basin community to support and build our future leaders. The student population of around 950 is stable with 20% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has a FOEI of 122. Our vision is for all students to graduate with the knowledge and skills to achieve personal success in their future pathways. Vincentia High School prides itself on delivering a comprehensive innovative curriculum that actively engages all students through challenging learning experiences. We prioritise inclusivity and students are supported by a range of cultural and well-being programs including ganya garindja and Clontarf. Personalised programs for students with a range of disabilities can be accessed through Mudjingaal, Gumbari and regular classes. Vincentia High School is an important member of the Bay and Basin Learning Community serving the educational needs of students from our local primary schools of Vincentia, Huskisson, Tomerong, St Georges Basin, Sanctuary Point, Sussex Inlet, Falls Creek and Jervis Bay. We have forged strong partnerships with all our partner primary schools and the local business community.
Specific Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach Mathematics 7-10, Mathematics 11-12 and willingness to teach Mathematics 11-12 and Mathematics Extension 1 and 2.
2. Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with the Mathematics faculty to deliver new curriculum that focusses on engaging and differentiating teaching and learning programs and assessment, including the introduction of the new Stage 6 Mathematics syllabus.
3. Capacity to deliver engaging lessons that account for a range of student learners, including with an HPGE focus and those requiring additional support, delivery of timely, constructive, and effective feedback to support student progress, build confidence, and foster continuous improvement.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
