Position Information

Kogarah High School is a vibrant coeducational secondary school located in the Sydney South Metropolitan area. We take pride in our diverse and culturally rich community, fostering a dynamic school culture that emphasises the development of engaged learners and responsible citizens. Our student population exceeds 700, representing over 20 distinct culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Notably, 84.4% of our students come from Language Backgrounds other than English, with 20% receiving specialised support from our English as an Additional Language or Dialect (EALD) teachers. Our school also features an Intensive English Centre, a Hearing Support unit, a class for students with mild intellectual disabilities, and three classes dedicated to students with Autism.

Specific Selection Criteria

1. Approval to teach Mathematics 7-10, Mathematics 11-12 and demonstrated success teaching Mathematics 7-12 including capacity and skill to teach Mathematics Extension 1 and 2.

2. Demonstrated ability to contribute to student numeracy growth and attainment through explicit teaching and learning.

3. Evidence of effective classroom management to promote a supportive and positive learning environment.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
