Position Information

Endeavour Sports High School embraces academic excellence as its number one priority. Endeavour is a designated Sports High School situated in the south of Sydney that has a student population of over 1350. It is a comprehensive, co–educational high school which provides a caring, disciplined, well–resourced environment where all students can achieve their potential through quality teaching and learning. Traditional classroom methodologies which are augmented with technologies. It has an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enrolment of 67. The school is dedicated to academic excellence, citizenship, elite sports and the arts. The core values of our school are academic excellence, personal best, commitment and respect. 

Our HPGE programs are ensuring that we cater for our high potential and gifted students, and our High Expectations Policy guarantees that all our students put learning first. Endeavour provides a broad curriculum, and we have successful programs in the creative and performing arts including dance, art, music and drama. We also have high achieving debating and public speaking programs. We currently offer 14 Targeted Sports Programs and have partnerships with elite sporting organisations including Sydney FC, the Sydney Swans, Cricket NSW, Basketball NSW, Baseball NSW, Cronulla Sharks National Rugby League club, and Netball NSW.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Mathematics (7-12) and willing to teach Mathematics Extensions 1 and 2.

Evidence of successful teaching experience including the ability to deliver engaging and differentiated student learning through lessons, technology and assessment that builds a culture of high expectations.

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, creatively and effectively with a diverse faculty team, to plan, implement and evaluate teaching practices to support school priorities, such as Literacy and Numeracy across curricula.

Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum to meet the learning needs of a diverse student body.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively within the Mathematics Faculty as well the broader school community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
