Position Information

Deniliquin High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school located in the South-West of the Riverina. Deniliquin is approximately 1 hour from Echuca and 3 hours from Melbourne. The school has a student population of 470 that come from the township of Deniliquin, surrounding towns and the wider rural community.

Deniliquin High School has a dedicated staff that ranges from beginning to very experienced teachers. The Mathematics Faculty has 5 teachers with a Head Teacher who provides ongoing support and leadership to the faculty.

Deniliquin High School has a strong commitment to student engagement, quality teaching and maximising outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The school is a restorative practice and PBL School.

Deniliquin High School promotes a caring and supportive environment, providing programs that cater for students of all ability levels and backgrounds. The school has a Wellbeing Hub that includes counsellors, a Student Support Officer, a Wellbeing Nurse, an Aboriginal Education Officer and a Head Teacher Wellbeing to provide support for students.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Mathematics 7-12, with the capacity to design and implement innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs and assessment practices that focus on student growth and improving student outcomes. 
  2. Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and parents. 
  3. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the Mathematics faculty and contribute to whole school programs. 
  4.           Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.

 

Conditions

A relocation support package of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
