Position Information
Deniliquin High School is a comprehensive, co-educational secondary school located in the South-West of the Riverina. Deniliquin is approximately 1 hour from Echuca and 3 hours from Melbourne. The school has a student population of 470 that come from the township of Deniliquin, surrounding towns and the wider rural community.
Deniliquin High School has a dedicated staff that ranges from beginning to very experienced teachers. The Mathematics Faculty has 5 teachers with a Head Teacher who provides ongoing support and leadership to the faculty.
Deniliquin High School has a strong commitment to student engagement, quality teaching and maximising outcomes in literacy and numeracy. The school is a restorative practice and PBL School.
Deniliquin High School promotes a caring and supportive environment, providing programs that cater for students of all ability levels and backgrounds. The school has a Wellbeing Hub that includes counsellors, a Student Support Officer, a Wellbeing Nurse, an Aboriginal Education Officer and a Head Teacher Wellbeing to provide support for students.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Mathematics 7-12, with the capacity to design and implement innovative, high-quality teaching and learning programs and assessment practices that focus on student growth and improving student outcomes.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, students and parents.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within the Mathematics faculty and contribute to whole school programs.
- Proven ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create a classroom environment that is engaging, inclusive and fosters a culture of high expectations.
Conditions
A relocation support package of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
