Position Information

The Grange Public School sits on the lands of the Dharawal People in South West Sydney. The school has an enrolment of 283 students, with 11 mainstream classes and 2 support unit classes.
Students come from a diverse cultural community, 56% of students identify as EAL/D and 9% as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The school has a strong culture of collaboration in the planning, teaching and assessing of Literacy and Numeracy, including differentiating instruction to support the needs of all students. The school focuses on building relationships with students to ensure that our school is a place where students achieve their best.
The school enjoys a high level of community support and works to further improve the level of parent engagement and consultation in all areas of school life. 

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach (primary) library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. 

  1. Capacity to deliver innovative lessons to support students in learning across the curriculum while effectively managing the role of Teacher Librarian.
  2. Proven experience in creating an engaging, inclusive learning environment that focuses on high expectations and positive classroom behaviour practices for all students.
  3. Evidence of highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, enhance practice and build positive and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

This is a permanent part time position for 3 days per week 0.6 FTE (Full-time equivalent).

It is anticipated that this position will commence on Day 1 Term 1 of the 2025 school year.

If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months.
