Position Information

Woy Woy South Public School is a thriving K-6 school and a proud member of the Brisbane Water Learning Community. There are 658 students currently enrolled, including 64 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Staff are committed to establishing a high expectations schooling environment based on quality teaching and learning experiences. Focus is placed on the holistic development of skills through the successful implementation of explicit teaching practices and research based academic programs. PBL, sporting and artistic pursuits are well supported, and technology is used to support and engage students in the learning process. Staff and parents work in partnership to support a wide range of extracurricular activities that extend and enrich student learning.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach primary library or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education with current knowledge of the requirements of a teacher librarian.

Highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with expertise to work collaboratively and build positive, student-centred relationships across the school community. 

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage student behaviour, fostering a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment that reflects the diverse cultural backgrounds within our school community.

Ability to design and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned library learning experiences that integrate digital technologies, information literacy, and literature to support the varied learning needs of the students. 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
