Position Information

Narellan Vale Public School is located in South Western Sydney which is within the Macarthur Network of Schools and was opened in 1997. There are currently 638 students enrolled. The student population comprises 24% of students with a language background other than English and 42 students from an Aboriginal background.

The school has a support unit of three Autism (AU) classes, established to further support the needs of the students in the community and foster inclusivity. There is a core focus to build strong foundations of learning and a school wide culture of high expectations. Strong links have been forged with the local preschools and the local feeder high school. The school is supported by a hardworking Parents and Citizens Association.

The school motto of 'Together We Learn and Grow' is central to all endeavours. A commitment to continual improvement is key, with Literacy and Numeracy at the core of all learning. There is a strong culture of collaboration and a dedicated team of educators who are committed to excellence and maximising student growth and attainment. There is a collective responsibility for student improvement.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach library or currently undertaking or enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education. 

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a primary school library using the Oliver Library Management system, including budget, technology and resource management.

Proven experience in creating an engaging, inclusive learning hub that focuses on high expectations and positive classroom behaviour practices for all students to enhance their learning experience. 

Evidence of highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team, enhance practice and build positive and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents and the wider community.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

The commencement date for this position will be day 1 of the 2025 school year.

If applicable, engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education which must be completed within 24 months months.
