Position Information
Muirfield High School (915 students, including 24% from non-English speaking background) is a comprehensive, coeducational school with highly supportive student welfare structures and student leadership programs. The school has a support unit with three emotional disturbance classes. Students in the support unit are integrated into mainstream classes and programs, as appropriate to meet individual needs.
An informed and highly involved community has high expectations for student achievement and engagement. Developing and maintaining academic growth is a focal point of school planning. The library is an inviting and supportive hub of digital learning and literacy focusing on holistic student engagement and collaborative practices.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Secondary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
Ability to contribute to whole school priorities and develop a culture of reading, literacy, digital literacy, research skills and critical thinking.
Highly developed communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work proactively and collaboratively with staff, students and our community to support curriculum delivery.
Capability to provide an innovative approach to promoting and managing a library that functions as a vibrant learning hub for the school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
