About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Secondary Teacher Librarian to join the supportive team at La Salle Academy, Lithgow. The teacher in a Catholic school is someone who can encourage development and nurture the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each and every student. 

We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

  • Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.

  • Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.

  • Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.

  • Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.

  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.

  • Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life.

  • Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

About You
We are looking for someone able to address the following section criteria:

  • Proven ability to effectively teach Primary/subject curriculum

  • Experience in developing quality physical and online information services in the management of a school library collection

  • Extensive Information Communication Skills (ICT) and knowledge of Web 2.0 tools

  • Extensive knowledge of children’s literacy with a contemporary literature repertoire and knowledge of how to promote and foster reading and writing.

  • Global view of information and computing skills in the context of curriculum aims and learning

  • Able to function effectively as a member of a professional learning community and enthusiastically make contributions to the team

  • Have knowledge, understanding and design practices based upon the ALIA AITSL Teacher Librarian Practice Guidelines (desirable)

  • Committed to Model of Christ Centred Learning and CEDB Professional Learning Community culture
