About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Secondary Teacher Librarian to join the supportive team at La Salle Academy, Lithgow. The teacher in a Catholic school is someone who can encourage development and nurture the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each and every student.
We are seeking a Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:

Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.

Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.

Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.

Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.

Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.

Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life.

Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

About You
We are looking for someone able to address the following section criteria:

Proven ability to effectively teach Primary/subject curriculum
-
Experience in developing quality physical and online information services in the management of a school library collection
-
Extensive Information Communication Skills (ICT) and knowledge of Web 2.0 tools
-
Extensive knowledge of children’s literacy with a contemporary literature repertoire and knowledge of how to promote and foster reading and writing.

Global view of information and computing skills in the context of curriculum aims and learning
-
Able to function effectively as a member of a professional learning community and enthusiastically make contributions to the team

Have knowledge, understanding and design practices based upon the ALIA AITSL Teacher Librarian Practice Guidelines (desirable)
