Position Information
Colo High School is a proud, comprehensive high school. It has an outstanding record of achievement in academic, sporting and cultural pursuits. The school community is situated in the semi-rural Hawkesbury area, approximately 20 minutes from Penrith and was established in 1978. In 2024 there are approximately 810 students including 68 students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
Our vision is to develop motivated learners prepared for the wider world, fostering resilience and responsibility along the way. Together, we strive for excellence to ensure every student finishes school ready to succeed in their chosen pathway as an informed, responsible citizen.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach Secondary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
- Capability to provide an innovative approach to promoting and managing a library that functions as a learning hub for the school, supporting teaching, learning and wellbeing across the school.
- Potential to contribute to whole school programs to develop a culture of reading, literacy, digital literacy, research skills and critical thinking, including the capacity to deliver innovative lessons to support student learning.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff, students and their carers to improve student outcomes.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
