Position Information
Guyra Central School provides high quality, future focused, and personalised learning and teaching. We are a Kindergarten to Year 12 educational setting, fostering a culture of high expectations, wellbeing, and achievement for all. The school has a current enrolment of 318 students, including 32% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) has a high profile and impacts significantly within the school to address student wellbeing and consequently, student learning outcomes. Guyra Central School is in its third year as a Big Picture Education learning facility. Big Picture Education runs parallel to our mainstream curriculum, providing our 7-12 students with an alternative learning mode. The school is well resourced with technology and state of the art learning facilities including a Trade Skills Centre for Metals and Engineering, Science Block, sensory learning area, gymnasium, productive Agricultural farm. and a new commercial kitchen/hospitality hub. The Library position is a K-12 role working across the school.
Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Primary and/or Secondary Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education (Refer special notes below).

Demonstrated experience in managing the resources of a school library, including knowledge and experience in use of the Oliver system Library Management System
- Ability to plan and deliver innovative lessons to full classes and small groups to support students in learning across the curriculum whilst managing the role of Teacher Librarian.
- Demonstrated expertise in supporting the development and implementation of innovative programs in a school context of diverse students learners; including supporting the needs of Aboriginal student, gifted and talented students and those students requiring specific learning support.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively within a team to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning programs in the library and across the school.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
Special Notes
Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week 0.8 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
If applicable engagement will be temporary until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, which must be completed within 24 months.
