Our school is enriched by strong cultural identity, with 58% of students identifying as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, and we work closely with families and the local AECG to ensure culture, community, and identity are celebrated and embedded in daily learning. We are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, and respectful environment guided by our school values of Respect, Honesty and Responsibility (RHR). Narromine Public School provides targeted learning and wellbeing support, catering for the diverse needs of students, including students with disability and high-potential learners through a strong HPGE (High Potential and Gifted Education) focus. Our teaching practice is grounded in explicit instruction and evidence-based strategies, including high-impact HPGE practices, with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy to support student growth and achievement.

The Teacher Librarian is responsible for managing and maintaining a vibrant, inclusive, and well-resourced library that functions as a flexible, technology-rich learning environment supporting students across all stages. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, the Teacher Librarian develops and delivers curriculum-aligned programs that enhance literacy, numeracy, and research skills. The role promotes student engagement and wellbeing through inclusive practices and proactive behaviour management strategies that support learners from diverse backgrounds. The Teacher Librarian curates a broad range of print and digital resources aligned with curriculum goals and student interests, ensuring equitable access for all. Through explicit teaching of information literacy, digital citizenship, and critical thinking, the Teacher Librarian empowers students to become independent and ethical users of information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building collaborative relationships with staff, students, parents/carers, and the broader community. The role also involves leading innovative initiatives that elevate the library’s role as a central learning hub, incorporating emerging technologies and supporting inquiry-based, student-driven learning.
