Position Information

Bega Valley Public School, a proud member of the Sapphire Coast Learning Community (SCLC), is the only public primary school located in the small rural town of Bega. The current enrolment of approximately 300 students includes 12 mainstream classes and a support unit comprising of four Multi Categorical classes. 20% of Bega Valley Public School students have Aboriginal heritage. Our students come from a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds. 

Targeted funding support is received for students who require high, moderate or low-level adjustment for disability, or who require specific support. Equity loadings provide funds to support Aboriginal students and students from low socio-economic backgrounds, English as an Additional Language or Dialect, as well as a rural and remote component. 

We are seeking a 3 day a week Teacher Librarian to join our dynamic school. The position requires a portion of Release from Face to Face teaching as well as administration of the library. 

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Library or currently undertaking or currently enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.

Evidence of highly developed communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills with the ability to work as part of a collaborative team and build positive and authentic relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and the wider community.

Well-developed skills in managing student behaviour, engagement, and wellbeing, with a proven capacity to support students from diverse backgrounds.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

This is a permanent part-time position of 3 days per week, 0.6FTE (full time equivalent)
