Position Information

Chifley College Bidwill Campus is a comprehensive 7-12 campus in Chifley College, located in Western Sydney on the land of the Dharug people. We share our site with Bidwill Public School and Bidwill Preschool, giving us a uniquely family oriented, community atmosphere and culture. A support unit is also part of our school. Current enrolment is 670, which has been steadily growing over the last five years. Approximately 23% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and approximately 40% of students are Pasifika.

Our school embeds Positive Behaviour for Learning and builds its identity and sense of community on the core values of Responsibility, Learning and Respect. This is complemented with our commitment to Choice Theory as a guiding principle. All teaching and learning programs, and all wellbeing initiatives, are designed to reinforce these values and support students in their social, personal and academic growth.

Specific Selection Criteria

1.Approval to teach students with learning and support needs secondary and/or experience teaching students with learning and support needs secondary in regular classes. Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs and their teachers.

2. Knowledge and capacity to collaboratively plan, implement, monitor and evaluate personalised learning and support plans for students with a range of learning needs that support improved educational outcomes.

3.Demonstrated ability to implement differentiated, evidence-based teaching practices in literacy and numeracy ensuring success for all students.

4.Highly developed interpersonal, administration, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with teachers, school support staff, students and parents.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
