Position Information

Jamison High School is a proud, comprehensive, co-educational 7-12 high school located at the foot of the Blue Mountains in Western Sydney. The school is on the land of the Mulgoa people from the Darug Nation. The student population is currently at 881. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students represent 9% of the student population. 


Jamison High School has a dedicated Support Faculty with seven classes catering to students with autism and complex learning needs. The Learning and Support Team proactively supports all students in reaching their potential. Technology in the curriculum is a strong focus at the school, supported by the Bring Your Own Device program.

The school is a Positive Behaviour for Learning School that promotes four core values: safe, respectful, aspirational, and learners. These values operate across all activities and programs at the school.

Specific Selection Criteria

1, Approval to teach students with learning and support needs (secondary) and/ or experience teaching students with learning and support needs (secondary) in regular classes.


2, Capacity to provide specialist assistance to students in regular classes with additional learning and support needs
and their teachers.


3, Proven ability to collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum catering to students with additional learning needs. This includes competency in assisting with the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD).


4, Demonstrated capacity in planning, implementing and monitoring individualised education plans (IEPs) to improve learning outcomes for students with additional needs. This includes using data to tailor and adjust programs to meet individual needs.
 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

 

 

Special Notes

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 days per week, 0.8 FTE (Full-time equivalent).
