Position Information

Homebush Boys High School is a comprehensive boys high school (enrolment of 950 students), with a proud tradition of strong academic achievement and excellence in the fields of sport, the creative arts and many extracurricular activities. We are highly multicultural in nature with over 90% of students from a non-English speaking background. We have a focus on maximising student learning outcomes with a continuing commitment to literacy and numeracy. Our school staff is experienced and committed to engaging boys in meaningful learning experiences. We advocate safety, learning and respect in alignment with the values of the Positive Behaviour for Learning program. The school has a strong reputation in the community and continues to build educational networks to further the opportunities for students. Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to Teach Industrial Technology. Approval to teach in ITM - Metals and / or ITW - Timbers and / or ITB - Building & Construction and / or ITE - Electronics and / or ITO – Automotives.
  • Demonstrated capacity to effectively differentiate learning experiences to engage, challenge and inspire diverse learners.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegially within an experienced TAS faculty, including the commitment to participate in whole school initiatives.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to build positive relationships with the students, staff, parents and the wider community.
  • Understanding of school and current DoE priorities and demonstrated ability to work towards improving student learning outcomes

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
