Through the Situational Analysis, we were able to identify the following areas as those for explicit future planning:

  • The use of data to inform teaching practice
  • Improving the engagement of our students and community to increase the achievement of learning outcomes and;
  • The adoption of more explicit teaching practice.

The plan has been developed through consultation with all stakeholders. Parents were surveyed and students were also consulted on their perspective of educational needs on a random basis. Members of the Wellington High School Community Group and the newly re-formed AECG were consulted during the process, as were school staff who pinpointed areas of need to ensure we had a complete understanding of our context going forward.
