Killarney Heights High School is a comprehensive co-educational school with a population of 1000 students, 43% EALD, located 20 minutes from the Sydney CBD in a bushland setting near the northern beaches of Sydney.  At Killarney Heights High School, we empower students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive academically, vocationally and socially. Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach ITW - Industrial Technology Timber, ITX - Technology Mandatory (7 & 8) and DAT - Design and Technology. 
  2. Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous programs using explicit teaching, which effectively assess student progress, provide quality feedback and differentiate to meet the needs of all students. 
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to build strong working relationships with staff, students, parents and the wider school community.
  4. Capacity to implement whole school Positive Behaviour for Engaged Learning framework to consistently to manage student wellbeing and behaviour.
Conditions

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE. Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept. Further information can be found on the merit selection webpage. 

Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.

A Relocation Support Payment of $5,000 up to $8,000 will be available for eligible applicants.

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
