Position Information

Narromine High School is a rural 7-12 coeducational comprehensive rural high school that caters for a 242 students and is situated on the banks of the Macquarie River, 30 minutes west of Dubbo. 71% of our students identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and we have a Support Unit consisting of 3 classes.

We promote Positive Behaviour for Learning and have core values of Respect, Responsibility, and Care which are reflected across all aspects of school life. We have a Wellness Hub on site that underpins and supports positive student wellbeing. 

Students have the opportunity to succeed in all areas of school life, academically, sporting, cultural, creative and performing arts. We offer a range of educational and vocational opportunities for students through initiatives such as Clontarf and NASCA academies.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach Geography and History 7-10 

Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and capacity to work as part of the English/ HSIE team and wider school community.

Capacity to develop and implement effective classroom content to meet the diverse needs of all students and demonstrated effective classroom management skills which promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment

Demonstrated commitment to the cultural and educational needs of Aboriginal students

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
