Position Information

Blackwattle Bay is the senior campus (Year 11 and 12 only) of Sydney Secondary College with approximately 850 students. The school is located on the foreshore of Blackwattle Bay, Glebe and is easily accessible by public transport. The school offers an extensive senior curriculum to cater for the needs of the diverse student body. The student enrolments includes students in an academically selective stream, students in the support unit with a diagnosis of autism, mild or moderate intellectual disabilities, a small, but significant, a number of Aboriginal student enrolments and an increasing number of International students. Blackwattle Bay students achieve outstanding academic results each year in the Higher School Certificate examinations. All students are supported by a strong welfare program. 

Specific Selection Criteria

1.     Approval to teach Business Studies and Legal Studies  

 

2.     Demonstrated experience in teaching the current Business and Legal Studies syllabus with the capacity to create, design and implement effective units of work that engage senior students of all abilities.

 

3.      Well-developed interpersonal, communication and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the HSIE Faculty and contribute to whole school programs.

 

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
