Position Information
Melonba High School is a new site located in the suburb of Melonba near Marsden Park. It opened to Year 7 and 8 in 2024 and will grow to include Year 7, 8 and 9 cohorts in 2025 with an anticipated enrolment of 650 students. It is expected to experience rapid growth enrolment in the first 5 years of operation. When completed, the school will have capacity for 2000 students. The school will incorporate an innovative and future focused educational model, reflective of agile teaching and learning areas while also supporting the welfare needs of students. Explicit Teaching at Melonba High School is underpinned by a concerted focus on Learning Intentions/Success Criteria, Formative Assessment and Differentiated learning.
Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Geography (7-10), Commerce and Legal Studies
· Effective classroom management skills which promote an engaging and inclusive learning environment, fostering a culture of high expectations for all students
· Capacity to work as a collaborative member of the HSIE faculty and school community, including the design and development of programs and assessment tasks as well as whole school initiatives
· Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, staff and parents
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
