Position Information

Cabramatta High School is a comprehensive, coeducational high school in Southwest Sydney. The school has a total student population of over 1500, including an Intensive English Centre and Support Unit. 96% of students are from a language background other than English, with fifty-five cultural groups represented in the school. The school has a strong focus on academic excellence, collaborative practice, holistic education, wellbeing programs, innovative professional learning, and community partnerships. 

The school and its community have a strong culture of high expectations in all learning areas, including student participation in innovative, high potential, and gifted activities. The HSIE Faculty has an outstanding leadership record with a high representation of staff in the school executive team and coordinates a significant number of programs.  The faculty manages many extra-curricular programs linked to school community partnerships, with programs gaining state recognition and talented staff and students achieving diverse awards.

Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teach ancient history and modern history and approval or willingness to teach Society and culture and geography (7-10). 

 Demonstrated ability to develop high quality, engaging and challenging differentiated programs to meet diverse student learning and well-being needs, including the needs of high potential and gifted students, English as an Additional Language/Dialect and students needing additional support.

 Ability to design, implement and evaluate high quality teaching and learning programs and assessments that improve learning outcomes for diverse learners.

 Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a dynamic faculty, the whole school, and the wider community.   

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
