Position Information

Auburn Girls High School is a partially academically selective and comprehensive high school with an enrolment of 850 girls, 98% of whom have a language background other than English. The school has increasingly achieved outstanding HSC and NAPLAN results. This is due to a strong commitment to building collective teacher efficacy and using evidence-based practices to target areas including literacy, numeracy and HPGE. Auburn Girls High School has developed a strengths-based Positive Education wellbeing platform where every student is known, valued, and cared for within a culture of high expectations and academic rigour.

Specific Selection Criteria
  1. Approval to teach Economics, Legal Studies, and willing to teach 7-10 Geography 
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective teaching programs that meet syllabus and curriculum reform requirements for diverse learners including High Potential Gifted Education (HPGE), and English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D). 
  3. Well-developed interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills with the capacity to work collaboratively with students, teachers, staff and parents.  
  4. Demonstrated ability to use effective classroom management skills and wellbeing practices to create an engaging, inclusive learning environment that fosters a culture of high expectations
Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
