Position Information
Gloucester High School is a comprehensive school serving the communities of the Bucketts Way. Our school has a student population of approximately 310 students, of which 13% are of Aboriginal heritage. Our students come from both rural farming backgrounds and from the local town and surrounding villages.
For a rural school we offer a diverse curriculum and have a strong history of student success in gaining placement in universities, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment. A PBL school, we are proud of our school expectations of Care, Achievement, Respect, Effort and Responsibility. The school is highly regarded and provides opportunities for all students through a range of academic, cultural, sporting, creative and performing arts and social experiences. Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach years 7-10 History and Geography. Approval and/or willingness to teach Modern History (years 11-12)
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with the faculty, whole school, and the wider learning community, to foster a culture of high expectations.
- Demonstrated capacity to differentiate curriculum and develop innovative, engaging teaching and learning programs, that cater for a diverse range of students’ cultural and educational needs, inspiring growth, and improvement in student outcomes.
- Proven interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member and contribute to faculty and whole school programs and initiatives that support relationships and links with students, staff, and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
