Position Information
Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Wade, is a secondary school situated in Griffith with an enrolment of 470 students including 85 students with an Aboriginal Heritage and 103 students with a non-English speaking background. The new secondary educational structure for the former Murrumbidgee Regional High School includes 2 independent schools supported by a Senior Cross School Coordinator who will ensure the provision of the legacy benefits arising from the previously merged school. The school will share linkages with Murrumbidgee High School - Griffith, including senior curriculum and an Aboriginal Learning and Engagement Centre. As part of this restructure, the school is developing school procedures to support student learning including role statements and wellbeing systems to support the aspirations of the new learning environments. Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Wade includes a support unit with 4 classes supported by a deputy principal instructional leader and a Clontarf Academy to support the educational provision of Aboriginal boys. The school seeks to achieve future high academic performance, supported through strong curriculum and vocational pathways. Murrumbidgee Regional High School - Wade, has recently benefited from significant infrastructure upgrades including a new library, canteen and soon to be constructed multipurpose facility. Positioned at the heart of the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, Griffith stands as a sizable regional city. This location ensures residents access to a diverse array of industries, cultural establishments and local sports teams that are deeply integrated into the community fabric. The city's assets include its own airport, hospital, specialised facilities, a wide spectrum of retail establishments and some of Australia's foremost wineries.
Specific Selection Criteria
- Approval to teach years 7-10 Geography and willingness to teach Legal Studies and Business Studies (years 11-12)
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with the faculty, whole school, and the wider learning community, to develop a culture of high expectations.
- Proven ability to differentiate curriculum and develop innovative, engaging teaching and learning programs, that cater for student learning needs and improve student outcomes.
Conditions
Successful applicants may be entitled to a Recruitment Bonus of $20,000 (Conditions Apply). The Recruitment Bonus will be paid on a pro rata basis for permanent part-time teachers and executive staff. The maximum recruitment bonus available for a position is $20,000, including any job share arrangements.
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position. If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
